Prague: cheap beer, big clubs, one new rule

Prague runs on cheap, seriously good beer that often costs less than soft drinks, with half-litres from CZK 40 to 70 in local pubs and CZK 90 to 120 in tourist spots. The tourist clubs and pub-crawl meeting points cluster in the Old Town and around Wenceslas Square, while locals drink in Zizkov, said to have the most pubs per capita in Europe. Karlovy Lazne is a five-floor megaclub by Charles Bridge, billed as the largest in Central Europe, with entry around CZK 250 to 400 nightly from 22:00.

One rule changed the game here: as of mid-2026, organized commercial pub crawls are banned in the historic centre between 22:00 and 06:00, with fines up to CZK 100,000. Dirty Sixth (East 6th) is the cheap, rowdy strip that closes to cars Thursday to Sunday and pulls the bachelor and bachelorette crowds; West 6th and the Warehouse District hold the upscale clubs; Rainey Street is a row of bungalow patio bars. The product is dayclubs by afternoon and mega-clubs by night, almost all on the Strip inside resort casinos.
